Auto Shipping Glossary: Enclosed Auto Transport
In this new blog series we have started up, we are going to be talking about various terms that you will hear bandied about while you are searching for quotes or browsing various websites, and it is important to know what exactly these terms entail. Today’s installment of the Auto Shipping Glossary blog series is the definition of enclosed auto transport.
Enclosed auto transport services, specifically, are transport services where the vehicle, instead of being “open” to the elements (as with an open auto transport carrier), it is completely secured in the back of a special car transport container.
Enclosed transport is generally recommended for vehicles that are expensive, rare or valuable, and they are primarily used with vehicles that are not driven every day or else can’t really be driven more than once a day and cannot be exposed to the elements for any length of time.
Enclosed transport is generally more expensive than the standard method, but it is definitely safer and will protect your vehicle more than open transport will.
